DataDotDNA - advanced microdot anti theft identification

Risk of theft is a fact of life for us all but here's something very small that can have a very big impact on reducing the risk of your property being stolen!

Little bigger than a grain of sand DataDotDNA microdots provide a positive and permanent identity to cars, personal property and corporate assets.

How do they work?

Simple. Professional thieves don't like to steal identifiable property. It's risky and more importantly difficult to sell on for a decent profit.

Let's take a car for example. The manufacturer stamps a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) into two or three areas of the vehicle but professional thieves can remove or change these in minutes.

We produce a set of dots for the car which either have the vehicles VIN (in the case of dots we supply to manufacturers) or a PIN (Unique number we allocate to that dot set) which we then link into our on-line database. The database displays only the PIN and VIN which enables Police to check their national stolen vehicle register but does not display any personal data.

With DataDotDNA dots thousands of dots, each with the vehicles code number, are applied in all of the key areas. Removal? No chance and so even if the car is broken up for parts no second hand dealer wants to touch them if they are stolen!

Above right you can see dots roughly actual size (they are 1 mm diameter) and below is a greatly magnified image of a real dot of the type we supply directly to car manufacturers.

If these dots are so small how can anyone find them?

The adhesive they are suspended in fluoresces purple under UV light allowing dots to be found but because there are so many of them thieves can't use this to help them remove the dots.

So are these dots just for cars?

No. We make dots for all types of application from home or business marking to specialised applications for the construction and forestry industries.

So does it really work?

In Australia (the first market we supplied) all of the manufacturers below now fit our dots to all of their vehicles and the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council has reported average theft reduction rates of over 80%!

Outside of the motor industry equally striking results are being experienced.

In the UK, for example, one Police force reported burglaries down by over 50% after supplying our home marking kits to several thousand homes in a high theft area.
